Volunteers Needed

The Peace & Justice Film Series is always happy to have volunteers to help with:

  • Selecting films for the Peace & Justice Film Series
  • Web design
  • Laying out our posters, pamphlets and other literature
  • Managing the email list
  • Fundraising
  • Posting action alerts and publicity
  • Putting up film series posters and flyers for each upcoming film
  • Volunteering at the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center

If you have suggestions for films or discussion topics, please contact us: Info@PeaceAndJusticeFilms.org

In past seasons, most of the funding for the Peace & Justice Film Series has come from ASUM, the Associated Students of the University of Montana. Two years ago, without explanation, ASUM cut our funding by 94%, from $2,000 per year to $120 per year. We desperately need your help to continue! Please see below for a tally of our expenses.

Sponsor A Film

Can you, your organization or your department sponsor a film? Our expenses can be more than $400 per film. Please help by sponsoring or co-sponsoring a documentary.

  • $400: Full Sponsorship of a film
  • $200: Co-sponsorship of a film

Please contact us for these and other creative arrangements for supporting the Peace & Justice Film Series : Info@PeaceAndJusticeFilms.org

All donations are tax deductible.

There are expenses to running any film series. The greatest expense is for screening rights from the film makers, often $75-$300 per film, and sometimes more. On occasion we invite the producer or director of a film come to talk to our audiences and we need to cover their travel expenses. We are happy to pay these costs because they support these fine film makers and help them produce more quality documentaries in the future.

Here is a rough tally of our expenses:

  • DVD Purchase: Usually $20 per film
  • Screening Rights: Highly variable, from free to $300 per film, depending on the distributor
  • Printing posters and pamphlets: $100 per season
  • Volunteer Labor : Priceless! Please help if you can!

Thanks again!
